In our latest Employee Spotlight we get to know Bryan Menie, Customer Service team member at Sombra Homes.
Tell us about your job at Sombra Homes
I manage customer service at Sombra Homes, working closely with my counterpart Rita, to address warranty issues for our homeowners. I have been with Sombra for 11 years. I'm the guy in the field that goes out to investigate problems. I am primarily responsible for meeting with homeowners, and to assess any issues that need to be taken care of. I may fix small issues, or I will find out who needs to make repairs. I am the go between with homeowners and sub-contractors, scheduling parts and people to do warranty work.
What motivates you at work?
I like to interact with our clients. It's not just scheduling, but taking care of their personal needs to make this is the ideal home for them. I've worked for other companies before. They were not as responsive. It's great to work for a company that truly cares about our homeowners.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I like to be outdoors, fishing or camping. One of my favorite places to go is Patagonia Lake. I also like to fly model aircraft, and drive remote control cars.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
I'd like to see Mount Everest. I don't want to climb it, I want to see it from a distance. It's towering, huge. I want to see the heads of Mount Rushmore. If I could go anywhere, it would be to the National Parks. The Redwood Forest and other great parks around the country.
What's something about you that would surprise people?
Probably the fact that I build and fly/drive model planes and cars. A lot of people think model airplanes are for kids. Not the ones we fly!
What's your favorite part about working at Sombra Homes?
Working with the people I work with. We have an excellent team here. Everyone is focused on their part of the wheel. The end result - we build beautiful homes.
